After months of hard work designing and engineering, Humane, the startup founded by ex-Apple duo Imran Chaudhri and Bethany Bongiorno, is finally ready to launch its first product: The Humane Launches Ai Pin.

Since its founding in 2018, the company has been tight-lipped about its work. However, it has hired several former Apple employees responsible for the iPhone’s touchscreen keyboard, industrial design, and the infrastructure of services such as iCloud, Apple Pay, and Home. Their wearable device is said to have a projection display and be powered by artificial intelligence.
”Chaudhri demonstrated the Ai Pin during a TED Talk in April, showcasing its capabilities as a connected and intelligent clothing-based wearable device. The device features a range of sensors that enable contextual and ambient computing interactions, with a software platform that harnesses the power of artificial intelligence to offer personal computing experiences. The release also notes that the Ai Pin is a standalone device, providing users with an unprecedented level of independence.
The Ai Pin, when tapped, will purportedly do many of the same tasks as a smartphone, but with fewer voice commands and gestures required. This device, which is designed to be clipped to a breast pocket, can provide a summary of emails and calendar invites, translate between languages, and answer and make phone calls.
Thanks to advanced technology, the Ai Pin is equipped with a camera and computer vision-powered software, enabling it to recognize objects in its surroundings, including food nutrition labels. Additionally, the device is fitted with a projector and depth sensor, which projects an interactive interface onto nearby surfaces, like the palm of a hand or a table.
HumanE’s Ai Pin offers individuals the chance to take advantage of AI in any environment, creating a new era of personal mobile computing which is smooth, without a screen, and utilizes sensing technology, according to a joint statement by Chaudhri and Bongiorno.
To develop the internal hardware for the Ai Pin, HumanE has joined forces with Qualcomm, utilizing an unspecified chip from the Snapdragon series. HumanE will divulge further details about the device in the upcoming year prior to the Ai Pin’s release.

Additionally, Humane is collaborating with OpenAI to incorporate its technology into the startup’s device.
LG is collaborating with Humane on research and development projects which will shape the next stage of its product life cycle. Additionally, they are modifying Humane’s technology to integrate it into their smart home devices. Volvo, on the other hand, is exploring the possibility of introducing Humane’s technology into the automotive sector.
To date, Humane, a San Francisco-based company with a workforce of over 200 employees, has attracted $230 million in investments from notable sources such as Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff, Kindred Ventures, SK Networks, LG Technology Ventures, Microsoft, Volvo Cars Tech Fund, Tiger Global, Qualcomm Ventures, and OpenAI CEO and co-founder Sam Altman.
